My Top 18 Life Lessons you need to know

As I turned 40, I reflected on the most powerful lessons I have learnt

Turning 40,

What a beautiful way to enter a new decade, nearly 38 weeks pregnant.

Literally life growing within me.

I love Birthdays and I will take any “aging” that comes my way, because it’s a privilege denied to too many.

I am grateful for every year I get & these 40 years have offered me so much.

Old enough to have learnt some sh*t & young enough to have plenty more to learn

My favourite lessons in my life so far:

  1. If you have a safe place to live and food on your table, you are amongst the wealthy

  2. If he / she loves you, you’ll know it. Always love yourself enough to be honest about this

  3. Often the “worst” things that happen, are the best things that can happen to you. Heartbreaks and rock bottoms included

  4. Your time & your health are your biggest assets and should never be taken for granted

  5. Your body speaks to you, listen to it

  6. People seem to expect more of young children than they are capable of themselves. They deserve more patience than we generally offer.

  7. Kindness is ALWAYS the answer

  8. You are living and dying in every moment, you can choose which aspect to focus on

  9. Meditation will change your life

  10. Quality always trumps quantity

  11. You are responsible for yourself. Your feelings, choices, situation, behaviours, reactions…. The lot.

  12. Forgiveness is more for you, than for them

  13. Living in a beautiful state takes work, but is worth it. Your state affects your day

  14. You can learn a lot from the people who differ from you

  15. Regrets are fine, they help you grow

  16. Being “Sensitive” is not a weakness

  17. It’s likely those who appear “lucky” have worked pretty damn hard for that “luck”. Be curious about them.

  18. We over estimate what we can achieve in one year and under estimate what we can achieve in 10.

Here’s to my next 40 years of living, loving, laughing & growing.
